WKEC receives 2008 Tom Vest Award for excellence in Professional Development.

The West Kentucky Educational Cooperative recently received the Tom Vest Award presented annually by the Kentucky Association of School Administrators (KASA) for excellence in professional development programming. The award presentation was held on July 16th at the annual KASA conference held in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Tom Vest Ward honors education leaders at the school or district level who have successfully implemented a professional development plan or program, significantly impacting and improving student achievement.

This award is named in honor of Mr. Tom Vest who organized the Kentucky Department of Education's professional development program and was instrumental in improving the quality of programs in Kentucky school districts in the 1990s.
