Corrective Reading - Beginner Level

This session provides training on the Decoding strand of the Corrective Reading Program.  Corrective Reading is designed for students who are 1 1/2 or more years below grade level and who have not learned to read in other programs.  Participants learn how to teach students to ready accurately and increase rate and fluency.  This session will focus on placement, grouping, sequence, classroom management, Word Attack, Story Reading (including Check-outs), and Independent Work.  Participants will learn about program design, teaching techniques, and motivational strategies for students to become successful readers.
